Main Squeeze
The Main Squeeze is an allegory for the various romance reality television shows. It follows many of the tropes of these shows; over-sexualized men and women, fabricating drama, and so on. However, there are also real people behind the cameras, and the reader becomes privy to much of the real-life drama and struggles of the main cast when faced with instant stardom. Some of these characters, like Luc, adapt to it quickly. Others, like Bea and Asher, struggle to express their true selves while the cameras are rolling. This shows how these reality shows must rely on editing drama in order to keep the readers watching.
