Summary

Episode One: “Showtime” opens in Malibu, California, and begins with a transcript from the podcast Boob Tube. The hosts, Cat and Ruby talk about Main Squeeze and how Cat has taken part in many betting pools for the show. They talk about Bea and how unusual it is for a plus-sized woman to be the main character of any show. There is also a discussion on whether or not Bea’s suitors will also be plus-sized and Ruby wonders if the show is going to exploit Bea for the ratings instead of empowering her. Ruby agrees to watch the premiere, and the transcript ends with her talking about their sponsor.

The novel then shifts to an email from Beth to Squeeze Main-iacs about creating their brackets for the main squeeze. She points out Colin multiple times and receives an email back from him...
