Summary
Chapter 9: Tanzie – Tanzie already feels horrible because her brother has been beaten up, but now feels worse with the accident in which her mother hit a curb and brought on the police. It has been so long since Jess had driven anywhere that she no longer has insurance.
Chapter 10: Jess – Jess is stunned that Ed has appeared out of nowhere, and even more stunned that Ed asks how he can help. Jess must first deal with the police, explaining to them that she has no insurance, the car is not insured, there is no tax disc, and the car, an old Rolls Royce, belongs to her ex-husband. The police inform Jess she will be charged, may have to appear in court, and that the car will be impounded. Ed volunteers to give Jess and her family a ride home. Jess, embarrassed, accepts. Ed explains...
