Summary
Chapter Nineteen
In Chapter Nineteen, when Merrin gets home, the twins aren’t there. There room looks like it has been ransacked. Merrin’s parents tell her that the boys have gone to testing at the Hub for about a week. They seem tired and worried. Merrin tries to make her parents see what the experiments at the Hub had done to the VanDyne twins. Merrin realizes why Elias is so upset.
The next morning, Merrin goes to Elias’ house. She notices his mother has bags under her eyes. Elias is in the shower so Merrin goes to his room to wait for him but is distracted by a room she’s never noticed before. The room is full of computers and books. One book “Genetic Adaptability in the 22nd Century” lies open on a desk. One chapter in the book...
