Summary

Chapter Seven

In Chapter Seven, Elias gives Merrin a tour of his house which includes a movie theater, gym and music room. In the music room, Merrin is mesmerized by an untouched drum set. Elias hands her sticks and she plays. Just as she thinks Elias must be getting bored, she realizes he has joined her on an electric guitar. The two play together for a while, then Elias puts down the guitar and stands close to her. She allows him to pull her against him, something she’s never done before. Before she leaves, Elias scans in Merrin’s handprint, ordering Rosie to give her full access to the house. That night, Merrin has dreams that she is finally able to fly.
