Summary
Chapter Three
In Chapter Three, Merrin remembers the way the Supers at her old high school would use their powers to take advantage of the girls. Because of an experience with an extremely strong boy at Superior, she no longer likes to look boys in the eye. At home, Merrin looks at the poster of a girl flying up to rescue a kitten. She believes her parents hung it thinking she would turn into that girl. Her mother asks if she wants to talk about her first day. Merrin doesn’t. She thinks instead about how she has to get into an internship at Hub. All she has left to complete on her transcript is her parents’ signatures and a recommendation from Mr. Hoffman.
