Summary

Chapter 32 is narrated by Knox. Knox visits Phoebe to give her mother a list of lawyers that Eli wanted him to pass along. Eli indicated that Emma needed a good lawyer because the courts were coming down hard on bullying and inciting hate.

Knox wants to see Phoebe, but he hesitates when Phoebe’s mother tells him that Phoebe is on the roof deck. His fear of heights has gotten worse since Brandon died. Knox plans to stay in the middle of the roof, but he has to step toward Phoebe when she does not move from the railing. Phoebe thanks Knox for identifying Jared and stopping the bombing. She starts to cry when she thinks about Brandon. Knox fights down his fear and steps forward, toward the railing, to hug Phoebe.
