The Far-reaching Effects of Hypocritical Judgement
Pronouncing judgment on others by revealing their secrets in a public way can be devastating for both the person being judged and the person doing the judging. Information about students posted on Simon’s app caused some students to harm themselves and suffer serious psychological problems. While Simon seemed to enjoy the power he held over other students because he had the ability to widely report their secret faults and mistakes, he did not like how he felt when the roles were reversed. Instead of learning from his experience, Simon escaped his own problem through suicide and left four students accused of his murder by way of revenge.
