Summary
In Chapter 30, Nate narrates as he is released from juvenile detention. He is surprised how much Addy did to help him though he did nothing for her in return. In fact, Nate feels that he has been fairly useless compared to the way the others worked together to solve the crime. His mother and Bronwyn are waiting for him outside. On the way home, Bronwyn tries to catch his eye but he cannot let himself respond to her. He believes that he knows how impossible a relationship will be between the two of them. He makes an excuse that he just wants to go home and sleep.
The narration turns to Cooper who describes the media hype surrounding the case. Jake has been charged with several crimes including assault, obstruction of justice and tampering with evidence. He is in the same...
