Summary
In Chapter 19, Nate tries to think of what he can say to Bronwyn to explain why he told her that his mother was dead. She tells Nate she has been sober for three months, even though she does not think that he will expect any different from her than he got the last time she was around. She wants to take Nate to dinner the following day and he tells her maybe he will call her. He rides his bike to Joshua Tree. The only place he can remember him and his parents going on vacation together.
