Jake Riordan

Jake Riordan is the son of Katherine Riordan and Alex Alton. When Alex is confronted by Scott at the Riordan house when Alex is packing up some of Katherine’s things, Alex informs Scott that Jake is not Scott’s biological son.

At the beginning of the novel, Jake is in jail for attempting to murder Addy and framing four people in the alleged murder of Simon. Because a juror shared information about the trial with his girlfriend, Jake was granted a new trial. He is also released from jail pending that trial.

While in jail, Jake spoke to high school students about the mistakes he made and how he wished he had done things differently. He claims he is making the speeches as part of his community service work because he is remorseful for what he has done. After he is released from jail, Jake threatens...
