Summary

In Chapter 1, narrated by Addy on June 22, Addy is visiting the Rojas sisters, Maeve and Bronwyn, to watch the Eastland High seminar that will feature Jake Riordan, who is serving time in jail. Jake is Addy’s ex-boyfriend. When Addy cheated on Jake, he teamed up with Simon and tried to frame Addy for murder. Jake almost succeeded in choking Addy to death when she attempted to expose him for what he had done. After Jake was sentenced, critics claimed he had received a light sentence because his family was rich. Jake has softened his critics because he had been a model prisoner and claims he wants to help other teens not make the mistakes he had made.
