Summary

In Chapter 6, Marco explains to Katy that Adam comes to Hotel Poseidon each year with an offer to buy the hotel. This angers Katy, who hates the idea of treasured things being lost to time. She cries for the first time since Carol died. Marco places a comforting hand on her shoulder. He says, “Positano is a good place to let life return to you” (43). Marco recommends Katy check out Chez Black for lunch: the same restaurant Carol loved. Once there, Katy gets overwhelmed and heads to the beach. She debates leaving Positano and returning to Eric. Once at the hotel, Katy spots her mother.
