Summary
Chapter One mentions the poet Lucchesia Sbarra whose works have been lost. Charlotte is looking for information about a poet named Isabella di Angelo, but is only finding information on the much more famous Antonio Tasso. All that is known is that Isabella was Antonio’s lover. The narrator describes her friends, Yasmin, Nate and Adam, but the guys are messing around. As Yasmin asks them to stop, Charlotte thinks about her love of writing and sees a flyer that calls to her. She remembers reading Where the Wild Things Are as a kid and wrote her own stories. Even though her father does not take her work seriously, Charlotte knows she can live out her dream.
