Chapter Six Summary

Stephanie takes Morelli's Jeep back to her apartment and parks it in the rear parking lot. Possessing a skill inherent in all Jersey girls, Stephanie removes the distributor cap and goes into hiding. Stephanie spends many hours crouched behind azalea bushes waiting for Morelli to show up. It is raining and after 1 a.m. Stephanie gives up, unable to withstand the cold and rain any longer. Once upstairs, Stephanie realizes that the Jeep's distributor cap is still in the azaleas but is too tired to go back down to retrieve it.

While Stephanie is enjoying a long, hot shower, someone enters the bathroom. Morelli flings open the shower curtain, eyes blazing. Stephanie is horrified to be standing wet and naked in front of Morelli. As Stephanie won't tell Morelli where the distributor cap is located, Morelli handcuffs Stephanie to the curtain...
