Chapters 36, 37 & Epilogue: September 15 Summary
In Chapter 36, a young boy is missing in New Jersey and a frantic search of the wooded area near his house takes place. The boy and his distraught parents are reunited quickly; however, a search dog locates the body of a young woman. On hour later the woman is identified as Brenda Slaughter, dead from two gunshot wounds to the head.
Myron wants to be alone and takes Win's car. Stopping at Esperanza's home, Myron finds her outside waiting for him. Myron tells Esperanza that he had been wrong. Win had talked to him about making leaps of faith, but he had misunderstood him. Unwilling to lose Esperanza, Myron seems to be more accepting of a partnership between them.
