Chapters 31-35 Summary

In chapter 31, Myron and Win rush to Madison Square Garden. Inside, videos of Brenda plays on the jumbo screen while celebrities wait for the game to begin. The two men race to the press box and find Norm Zuckerman waiting with detectives McLaughlin and Tiles. Norm tells Myron that Brenda has not arrived. Win and Norm retreat to a corner while McLaughlin and Tiles speak to Myron. The detectives want to speak to Brenda because they had executed a search warrant at her dorm and found a gun of the same caliber that had killed Horace. Myron rejects thet out of hand and talks to Win. Win informs him that Brenda had received a phone call at practice and left. No one had seen her since. Myron wants to follow up with Detective Wickner, and Win stalls Tiles and McLaughlin.
