Summary

After Luc bites Jacks, infecting him with vampire venom, the transformation process begins. Jacks either has to survive the night without feeding on human blood, which he now craves, and remain a Fate or feed on blood and become a vampire. Although Jacks hates vampires, the venom has gone to his head and encouraged his bloodlust. Jacks looks at Evangeline with hunger now. He tells her to go, to run away so that he does not feed on her, but she refuses.

Evangeline leads Jacks to a crypt, which he agrees to be locked into for the duration of the night, when the vampire's curse will break. To distract Jacks from the pain and hunger he is feeling, Evangeline questions him about his relationship with Princess Donatella.
