Summary
Evangeline wakes up in Jacks arms. She feels slightly embarrassed about having slept next to him like that, but is comforted by her belief that he does not care for her at all, and is just using her to fulfill the prophecy. On waking up, Evangeline realizes that the woman Jacks brought her to, the woman who saved her life, is LaLa, the same girl from Nocte Neverending. Jacks, who has woken up, tells Evangeline that LaLa is the fate that poisoned her. LaLa tells Evangeline that he is misconstruing the truth, and tells Jacks that this is why everyone hates him. Their easy rapport, and the way LaLa stands up to Jacks makes Evangeline wonder if they are flirting.
LaLa reveals that she is the Unwed Bride, another of the sixteen Fates. She represents rejection, loss, and unhappily ever afters. Her tears...
