Summary
Part 6 opens with Jayson surveying his empty street in Brooklyn on a quiet weekday morning. It is eight months since Stacy and Jayson moved into their new apartment, and Stacy is due to give birth any moment. In they days and minutes leading up to Harrison’s arrival, the couple is in seclusion, readjusting to their imminent status as parents once more. Jayson recalls the early days after Greta’s birth, the sleeplessness and irritability with which he treated Stacy, and hopes that this history will not be repeated with Harrison. He recalls an especially difficult stretch of parenting that occurred just before Greta’s accident, when Stacy was trapped in the car with Greta during the Brooklyn marathon, unable to leave their neighborhood or find a parking place.
