Summary
Fong See stays in China until his mother dies, continues to purchase antiques, buys land in Fatsan and manages the construction of a four-story hotel, and oversees construction of his house in Dimtao. He finds a wife for Ming named Ngon Hung, 16 years old. However, Ming and Ray return to the roaring twenties of Prohibition in Los Angeles and became playboys. In 1921, Ming marries Dorothy Hayes, a contract player at Paramount, in Tijuana. When Ming visits China, he refuses to marry a peasant girl, and Fong See marries her instead. When Ngon Hung gives birth to a daughter, Ticie files for legal separation. They divide the company and properties in the United States, and Fong See promises 25 dollars a month for Sissee.
