Summary
Jadna tells the Egg Alien that the complexity of the human race makes them tend to guard their past carefully. She says that she has had a difficult time getting permission to conduct “field research,” though she is a respected historian. The Egg Alien shows Jadna to a huge room filled with books that cover topics such as “anatomy, biology, medicine, meteorology, agronomy, psychology, economy” (40). Next, he takes her to a room that is filled with items, including a chair that looks like throne, statues, art, a saddle, and a motorcycle.
The Egg Alien goes on to say he included factual information as he created his Earths, but that the opportunity to include his own imagination is equally so.
