Summary

Olive was eating breakfast at the local marina when she spotted Andrea L’Rieux, one of her former students who was recently named Poet Laureate of the United States. Olive decided to approach her and as soon as Andrea recognized her, she sat down across from her. The two began talking about Olive’s experience with old age; Jack had died four months earlier, and a recent car accident left her afraid of losing her license.

Olive said that she read on Facebook that Andrea had been in Oslo recently for a reading, and told Andrea about her trip there with Jack, when both of them grew sad and decided that home was more beautiful than the fjords.
