Chapters 36-41 Summary

Odd decides to take Fungus Man to the Church of the Whispering Comet. The church was built outside town many years ago by a man who claimed he received messages from aliens traveling toward Earth in a comet. It turned out that the church was actually a cover for a drug ring. When the cultist were all arrested, the buildings were taken over by an outfit that ran a topless bar, an adult bookstore, and a burger joint out of the buildings, as well as a prostitution ring. After a customer shot up several of the young prostitutes, the place was shut down and has been vacant ever since.
