Summary

Part Five: 114: The Cost shifts to five and a half years ago as Dalinar meets with Felt who has visited the Nightwatcher before. Felt asks if Dalinar is sure he wants to meet with her after Dalinar had spent much of the trip intoxicated. They find a valley filled with plant life and Felt says there are trails and Dalinar leaves his men at night. The deeper he goes, the more voices he hears. He imagines killing Elhokar, taking the throne, and burning down villages to take over both Herdaz and Jah Keved. He sees himself as a monster and a voice speaks to him. A woman made of mist steps out and says she can give Dalinar anything he wants. He asks if he can get forgiveness and another voice speaks and a dark-skinned woman, Cultivation, steps out.
