Part One: 28: Another Option begins as the sovereign of Azir announces that they will seal off the Oathgate, as they believe it is too risky to keep it open in the center of their city. Dalinar asks to speak to Queen Fen as he inspects a tunnel where air flows. Navani says nobody knows how the air circulates. Queen Fen tells him that a second Everstorm hit and the city is in shambles. She refuses to open the Oathgate and apologizes if he is being sincere. Dalinar leaves the room when a messenger from Bridge Four arrives. A man named Leyten leads Dalinar to Sadeas’s Shardblade. Dalinar returns the blade to Ialai and tells Amaram that he will see judgment. Amaram calls Dalinar a hypocrite because he has killed far more men than Amaram.
