Summary
In “21. Jane Eyre,” Keisha likes reading literature that reminds her that being mocked and teased now is a good indicator of later success. In “22. Citation,” Keisha finds further evidence for this belief in the Bible itself. In “23. Spectrum 128k,” Leah receives a home computer for her 14th birthday. They write basic computer codes for it together. In “24. The number 37,” Leah begins spending time with a group of teenagers who smoke and drink. She and Keisha are growing distant: “They had only Prince left, and he was wearing thin” (216).
