Frankie
Frankie is the first-person narrator of the novel and the main character. For the majority of the events, she is a 16-year-old living in Coalfield, Tennessee, recounting the events of a significant summer in her life when she meets a boy named Zeke and makes a poster with him that they copy and put up all over town. Its popularity skyrockets almost immediately and it becomes an international phenomenon. She is torn between gratitude and awe at the way the posters inspire such enthusiasm and feeling like its prevalence makes it less specific and "special" to her and Zeke as something they made together.
