Summary

Chapter 6 begins with Frankie and Zeke putting up more of their posters around Coalfield. As they drive around, Frankie recognizes someone she knows who works at the movie theater taking down one of their posters – he says his boss “‘called the police,’” but “‘the cops didn’t care’” (48), which excites the two. They then drive to an abandoned house that Frankie knows is a party spot because of her brothers to hang posters. They end up hanging their posters across the entire room until “it seemed like the whole world was just…this thing [they’d] made” (50). Afterwards, Frankie is possessed by an urge to put the posters up everywhere “until the whole map was a single constellation” of places they’d marked, so they go back out to the town and hang more up.
