Summary

In Chapter 23, narrated by Fallon, as Fallon is headed to bed just after midnight on November 9, there is a knock on the door. No one is there, but there is a cardboard box with a letter from Ben taped to the top. In the letter, he asks her to read the manuscript and tells her that he wants her to be the best version of herself even if it means that they will not be together.

Fallon goes to bed without reading the manuscript because she does not believe she owes Ben anything. When she wakes, she discovers her mother sitting on the couch, crying as she reads Ben’s manuscript.
