Summary

Chapter 44 picks up three months after Lynette’s death. Callum explains that Meggie goes on long walks now, sometimes in the middle of the night. Ryan and Jude are always off alone together, making Callum feel left out. Callum interrogates them and they finally confirm that they are part of the Liberation Militia. He tells them he wants to drop out of school to join the LM, but Ryan tells him he must stay and earn a degree.
