Robin of Locksley
Robin of Locksley is one of the main protagonists within the novel and he is the person who the myth of Robin Hood is centered around. Robin has risen to become one of the most trusted men in the king's retinue during the Crusade in Acre. He is so trusted that King Richard allows him to wear the crown and be a decoy. Robin is injured during one of these decoy missions and he and his best friend are sent back to England in order to solve a mystery of where a shipment of weapons disappeared to. During his search, Robin is brought back to his hometown of Nottingham which brings Robin back into contact with his father's legacy of mercy and his old love, Marion Fitzwalter.
