Summary

Chapter Fifty is narrated by Arable as she is approached by a Guardsman who pulls her away from the edge of the rampart she had been leaning on to get some air. The Guardsman, named Marshall, asks her to help them break out their comrade Morg as he does not belong in prison but the Sheriff and Captain Gisbourne will not let him out. Arable is disgusted that William now shares the same moral code as Gisbourne. Marshall just asks her to get them the key and get it to him so they can execute the rescue after getting the other key from Gisbourne. Arable tells him no and then remembers a conversation she had with Roger about how mankind can be overwhelmed by things but that we can always take more. She reaches Lady Margery's room and finds her husband...
