Summary
Chapter Forty-Four is narrated by Elena as she sits in her prison cell and how it differs from the small prison called Sinner Mary's that they used to get thrown into when they were in the Red Lions. She decides she will not let this place get the better of her and she does not regret what they did. Elena does not want to take the deal William offered her as she had worked so hard to be with Will Scarlet and build up his potential. She had been observing every little thing the guards did in the darkness and was ready to use that information. The guards then brought a man to the cell next to her and he keeps asking if she has seen his children. When he says their names, Elena realizes it is Baynard, Lord Walter's chamberlain...
