Summary

Chapter Fifteen, in the narration of Arable de Burel, returns to Nottingham Castle. She is packing meals for the Guardsmen who will go out on the search party but all she can think about is how miserable she has been since she has outed Jon Bassett as the conspirator. Arable believes that he does not know it is her but she is terrified that he will find out and retaliate against her. She had thought about using the coin she had hidden away to travel to France to possibly find other de Burels but she is too scared.

Arable enters the stables and finds two Guardsmen, Reginold and Bolt, who greet her. Bolt leaves when Reginold subtly chides him about his crush on Arable. She then asks Reginold if Jon Bassett has been in any trouble in the past few months...
