Summary
The Prologue, narrated by Richard of Normandy, begins during June 1191 in what is referred to as The Holy land by the characters. He starts his narration by admiring the King of England atop his horse and how easy it would be to murder him. Richard keeps pace with the king as he moves through the ranks of men. While keeping pace, he plays out scenarios in his mind where he assassinates the king. Another soldier begins to take an interest in Richard as he continues to follow the King and think upon the follies of love. The suspicious soldier tries to draw Richard into a conversation but he avoids it, hating the little bit of English he was forced to speak. Once the army stops for the night, Richard sneaks into the King's tent, grabs the King by the shoulder and holds...
