Ginsburg was a highly intelligent and hard-working student, and she attended several prestigious institutions. She attended Cornell for her undergraduate studies, the enrolled in Harvard law School, before transferring to Columbia University for her final year of law school. At the time, these institutions did not admit many women, and Ginsburg faced much misogyny.
Rutgers University
After Ginsburg completed law school, she had difficulty finding a job, since many law firms discriminated against women. Eventually, Rutgers University hired her to teach in their law school. However, they paid her less than her male colleagues were paid. Eventually, she helped to successfully sue the university on behalf of the school’s many underpaid female employees.
