Three plot points provide major twists at the end of the novel. Jenny gives Nate the Ecstasy she still has left over from her trip to the boarding schools, which makes him extremely happy, but which also precludes her from having sex with him, as she intended. Back in her room, Blair discovers that Marcus has left to go back to England, but has left her tickets to England and a bee necklace. When she goes back downstairs, she sees Jenny and Nate emerging from the bathroom together. Nate happily starts making out with Serena, then possibly Blair as well, and the novel ends on this note of a possible threesome.
