Summary

In Chapter 62, Ven remains in a fog, barely aware of what is going on. He eats, observes others going about their day, and thinks about the past. When it is time to pray, he thinks that it cannot be difficult. He thinks of all the things that he could pray for, including hope and forgiveness. The chapter ends with: “Well. Maybe tomorrow” (362).

In Chapter 63, Ven is summoned to the place where Yue is being held. Yue explains why she wanted to see him by saying, “You are Kadri Tarrad. I am Pontus” (363).
