Chapter 9 Summary

Midori doesn't show up for the next day's class, but at 6:15 on Friday evening, while Toru is sound asleep, Midori calls him. She's just returned to Tokyo. After the funeral, she took off on a trip with her boyfriend. He got angry at her, though, because her period started early, and she took off on her own.
