Summary

Chapter 27 is Thursday, 18 July. With Alix at a meeting, Josie and Nathan are at the house. They discuss the heat, and Josie asks about Alix’s sister and family coming to visit. Josie thinks Nathan is lying to her. Nathan tells Josie that she needs to plan for other arrangements. Josie says that “life shows you the way when you forget to make one” (231). After Nathan leaves, Josie again goes through the house and targets Nathan’s clothing. She finds a small baggie with white powder inside. She also finds a scrap of paper with a phone number and a key card. Josie makes a plan. Alix returns; she and Josie work on the podcast at Josie’s suggestion.
