Summary

Chapter 20 is Thursday, 11 July. Josie shows Alix a picture of her daughters. Josie tries to explain about the “global development delay” (148) Erin’s teachers mentioned and how Roxy had an “oppositional defiant disorder” (148). Later, Josie asks Walter to get a haircut before the dinner party. Josie tells Walter that she is going to tell Alix about what happened with their daughters. When Josie takes food into Erin’s room, Josie senses that “Erin is part of the problem” (153).

Chapter 21 is Friday, 12 July. Nathan texts Alix that he is going to have a quick drink with a friend before the dinner party.
