Wednesday, pgs.. 407-439 Summary

After lunch, Ralph comes to talk with Peter who leaves with him. That leaves Rub alone with Sully. Sully let sRub ramble on about his wishes and fantasies. While Rub is talking, Sully remembers back to his childhood when the parish priest died. He remembers being at the funeral with his father, Big Jim. They went into the rectory and afterward, to the bar.

Peter returns in the late afternoon bringing a six-pack of beer. Peter tells him they still have the job at the Anderson house, in spite of Sully's absence when Anderson arrived unexpectedly. Sully tells Rub to go home. After a few minutes of Sully's ragging at him, Rub says he quits and throws a can of beer through a window and departs.
