Friday, pgs. 260-297 Summary
Sully loses between three hundred fifty and four hundred dollars in the poker game. The job with Miles Anderson is now more important to him. He needs money badly now since he has to buy a truck.
Smelling fish, Miss Beryl goes into Sully's apartment. She finds that Clive is correct about all of the cigarette burns. She cannot locate the fish smell and then feels guilty for invading his privacy. She then makes a list of things that she will never do based on her son's urgings and decides she will consult the list every time she sees herself giving into Clive.
Miss Beryl finds she has a visitor—Janey and her daughter Tina. Miss Beryl serves them a plate of cookies. Janey uses the phone and then hides her car.
