Thursday, pp. 147-183 Summary
Vera, Sully's ex-wife, lives in a house on Silver Street with her husband, Ralph Mott. Her son Peter and his family spend Thanksgiving there. She does not want Sully to appear, even though Peter had invited him. While doing the dishes, Peter tells Vera about the problems he and Charlotte are having and that they will be leaving in the morning. While talking, Peter notices Sully's truck in front of the house. Sully has fallen asleep. He is groggy from the pain killers. Peter calls for an ambulance when he finds his father sleeping in the truck.
Once inside the house, Sully talks to Vera's father and Peter goes to supervise the boys' baths. Charlotte has gone out. He and Charlotte will separate after the holidays. Peter wanted to make the trip to his mother's to get away from...
