Michelle Monson Mosure
Michelle Monson Mosure was a victim of domestic violence homicide. Her personal story provides a narrative and case study for Part One of the book and is the individual story that Snyder goes into in the most detail. Michelle was murdered in her early twenties in 2001 by her husband Rocky Mosure. She was killed alongside her two children, Kristy and Kyle, before Rocky killed himself. Michelle is characterized by her surviving loved ones as steadfast and determined, and as having a sense of responsibility beyond her years.
Michelle met Rocky when she was fourteen and he was twenty-four. She got pregnant and had their first child Kristy, at fifteen, and Kyle was born about a year later.
