Youth and Climate Change
Throughout each of her speeches collected in "No One Is Too Small to Make a Difference," Thunberg draws attention to her youth as a means of compelling global nations and powers to take responsibility for saving the planet. Instead of being threatened by her dissenters' insistence that she is too young to be a climate activist, Thunberg uses their words as a form of empowerment, agreeing that indeed she should not have to be the voice of the climate change movement. When politicians told her to go back to school, or suggested that she should first go to university for science before become an activist, Thunberg responded, in many of her speeches, by saying that she would return to her schooling once politicians began making systematic changes, that it was too late to wait until she had a degree to take a stand.
