Greta Thunberg
Greta Thunberg is a 16-year-old climate activist from Sweden. She independently wrote and gave each of the speeches collected in "No One Is Too Small to Make a Difference." When Thunberg first learned about the climate crisis in school, she was in shock and disbelief, confused as to why no one was doing anything. After winning a writing award, she was contacted by Bo Thorén, an associate of Fossil Free Dalsland. With his encouragement, Thunberg began conceptualizing a school strike. However, she rapidly lost her classmates' support. When she told her parents of her plans, they suggested she come up with a different means of protesting. Thunberg decided to stick with her initial idea. So in the spring of 2018, she skipped school and sat outside the Swedish Parliament building, handing out fliers and answering questions about the climate crisis.
