The Paris Agreement
The Paris Agreement is an agreement put forth and signed by members of the United Nations Climate Change Convention. The agreement compels nations to mitigate greenhouse-gas emissions and to make other changes to keep global temperatures below a two degree celsius increase. In many of Thunberg's speeches, she calls upon the Paris Agreement as a reminder to international politicians and entities, that they have a binding responsibility to confront and resolve the environmental degradation. Thunberg also frequently references the Paris Agreement's attention to equity and climate justice, issues unaddressed in any other climatic data or discussions.
