Chapter Seventeen - Eighteen Summary

The next morning, in Chapter Seventeen, Susannah still feels depressed because she got the wrong Red, the message is still undelivered, and the romantic mood between herself and Jesse was ruined. Susannah pretends that she does not care and she dresses up in her best butt-kicking outfit, a designer miniskirt, tights, Batgirl boots, sweater, and leather jacket. When Dopey makes fun of her, she punches him in the stomach. When Susannah gets to school, Sister Ernestine sends her home to change out of her inappropriate attire. As Susannah walks home, Marcus Beaumont abducts her. Susannah beats up Marcus's two thugs. Marcus grabs her himself. Marcus tells her that she will not go missing. Her corpse will be found very quickly.
